Jud Pratt - editor

Jud Pratt started editing in 1991 for local sports and community events in Youngstown, Ohio. In addition to the editing, he worked as a set dresser on movies such as The Public Eye with Joe Pesci and Barbara Hershey, Crazy for a Kiss with Mike McShane and Bud Cort, and Double Dragon with Alyssa Milano and Robert Patrick.

In 1995, Jud packed up and moved to Los Angeles. He taught himself the Avid Media Composer on nights and weekends while working in the post-production department of Kushner-Locke. His first paid Avid job was as an assistant music editor for the feature film The Whole Wide World starring Renee Zellweger and Vincent D'Onofrio.

Jud began working as an assistant editor and associate editor for films such as Against the Law, Stormtrooper, and Vampirella. During this time he was brought on as additional editor for the Warner Bros. film A Dog of Flanders.

After finishing A Dog of Flanders, Jud moved to Marin County where he was hired by Industrial Light and Magic as a second editor on the ill-fated Universal/ILM co-production of Frankenstein and the Wolfman that would have been ILM's first "all digital" animated film. Unfortunately, due in part to changes in executive staff at Universal, the film was eventually shut down after over a year in production... A truly unfortunate event given the groundbreaking animation ILM was producing.

When Jud returned to Los Angeles he worked on a number of documentary projects for the Discovery Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet, and TLC. He also started to work in the expanding "Reality TV" format on shows such as Fear Factor and Clean Sweep.

Jud continues to work with the Avid, but has also expanded his tool palette to include Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Combustion.
